Today, I stood in front of my MP's office, Michelle Rempel. She is in Ottawa presently.
I was joined for part of my 3 hours by George Melnyk, Kitty Dunn (from the Quaker community), Paul Armstrong, and Pat Brownlee.  I am grateful  for the sandwich board sign made by Julia and George Melnyk.
Thankfully the weather was cool, but quite comfortable. A few people stopped to talk. Nothing Earth revealing (I don't want to say "Shattering").
After reading the front  page story in the Globe and Mail today, I feel even more strongly that we need to do all we can to wake people up to the abdication of responsibility of our Federal Govt.  Don't these people have children, grandchildren, and people they love from the next generations?  I just do not understand how supposedly intelligent people can be so dismissive of reality. Of course this is a major part of the human story over the ages.  Hubris, arrogance, belief that we will find a fix.  Well folks, this Climate Change era in which are living is a totally new ball game from other eras.  
Endless growth and consumption of the Earth, our only home, is no longer possible. With the machines and technology of my grandfather's day, endless growth seemed sensible. IT IS NOT ANYMORE
An endless growth economy is not god-given. It is a relatively recent human invention.
We need a new paradigm for our economic future.
Climate Change needs to be addressed seriously NOW.
